What a finale! The Big Blog Exchange 2014

What a finale! The Big Blog Exchange 2014

So that’s it! The final 16 winners have now been released and unfortunately I am not one of them. It’s been a busy 6 weeks since the competition started and I am so glad and grateful to of even got into the Top 100. While I am slightly disappointed to of not made it through, my reflections on the competition are that of community, friendship and team spirit – something I had never experienced before in a competition where we are all essentially competing against each other.

So while I’m feeling just a bit jealous of those lucky 16 that will be jetting off to wonderful places around the world I am also so happy that three of my new friends have won a place!

Vincent Quek from Malaysia will be leaving his coffee shop behind in and will be heading off to Argentina – lucky thing!

Lucie Aidart from France will be jetting off to the big old USA!

Belen Palacios will be swapping with Vincent in Malaysia!

I’m so excited to read their posts about their adventures, and if you want to follow them too you can click on their name which will take you straight to their great blogs! ๐Ÿ™‚ Ps. You will have to translate Belen’s and Lucie’s ๐Ÿ™‚

So that’s the Big Blog Exchange finished for me. I have learnt so much this year that my entry next year will be even better and stronger! Thanks to all those that have voted and supported me through this journey – I hope I can count on you to vote and support me again!

Goodbye and watch out Big Blog Exchange….see you in 2015!

Thank you for the write-up, Sam. Means a lot. I’m so looking forward to having my first taste of South American culture and what better place to do so than Argentina (the other being Brazil of course). I was in touch with Belen very early on and I’d told her from the start that my dream exchange would be to her country. And now it’s happened; dreams to come true.

Do try again next year, Sam…. the same goes for you, Sel. Good luck.
