Wow, how this summer is flying past! It’s been just over a month and a half since I said “YES!” to my husband to be and two weeks since the whole wedding fun began with a sunset engagement photo session with Matej from Localgrapher.com
We have been super busy since we returned from our Balkans motorcycle adventure at the end of June. We have already booked our church and venue but truth be told, of all the wedding tasks we have done to date, the photo shoot for our engagement was by far the one I enjoyed the most!
Since we received the pictures last Sunday, I have been so excited to share them with you!
We have to admit, we were pretty nervous!
I am a big fan of Pinterest right now and it gave me a ton of inspiration for the engagement photo poses (including the cute couple poses we all secretly think are cheesy!) and what to wear. Since we are getting married in Prague, we wanted engagement photos that captured not only the beauty of Prague but the love we have for each other. Our initial thoughts were to get up super early in the morning and head out to Prague’s Castle and Charles Bridge before the swarm of tourists arrived but
Our initial thoughts were to get up super early in the morning and head out to Prague’s Castle and Charles Bridge before the swarm of tourists arrived but instead, we opted for a sunset photo shoot that would provide a beautiful romantic light.
During a last minute business meeting I was shown the most beautiful garden in Prague and thanks to the Aria Hotel (Thank you so much Zuzana!) we were able to use the Vrtbovska UNESCO World Heritage Site Garden as the backdrop to our sweet photoshoot. So the location was set! But what to wear?!
We didn’t want to dress up too much for the photoshoot as we wanted the pictures to reflect us and what we would normally wear. Leo opted for a smart shirt and trousers, an outfit he could have simply worn to work that day and I wore a light summer dress from Orsay paired with nude slingback heels to give the whole photoshoot a summery look. After all, it was going to be in a garden full of flowers!
We were so incredibly lucky with the weather and the lighting was just perfect. We had the whole garden to ourselves which enabled us to relax and enjoy the experience.
We couldn’t be more thrilled with the final photographs. Matej truly captured the sweet moments between us and we can’t thank him enough for making the whole photo shoot and enjoyable and easy experience. We now have a collection of photos that we will treasure for ever and they will look amazing on our Save the Dates!
