kampa park restaurant prague

Prague is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, with an abundance of breath-taking views. So experience the splendors of Prague’s sunsets and the majestic vistas of the Vltava river from my hand-picked (and personally tried) selection of Prague’s Top 10 Bars and Restaurants With A View.

1. U Prince Hotel Rooftop Bar – Old Town Square

Hotel U Prince Rooftop Bar Prague

Situated in the heart of the Old Town Square, this intimate rooftop bar and restaurant is the ideal place for a sun downer. With views over the main square, Tyn Church, the Astronomical Clock and vistas over to Prague’s castle, this is a hot spot during the summer for evening cocktails and romantic dinners. As part of a five star hotel, the menu is on the pricey side and due to its small rooftop location it does get extremely busy. Reservations are a must. $$$

2. Cloud 9 Sky Bar – Hilton Hotel

Hilton Cloud 9 Bar Prague

Chic and stylish, Cloud 9 Sky Bar is the first of its kind in Prague and it is located on the top floor of the Hilton Hotel with views over the Vltava and river banks. It hosts an elegant interior bar as well as a large outdoor terrace which provides a peaceful and laid back haven during the summer with a killer cocktail menu. In the evening the bar transforms into a lively music bar boasting vivid lighting, a range of intimate and group seating areas and live music. $$$

3. St Wenceslas Vineyard – Villa Richter

St Wenceslas Vineyard - Villa Richter

Located in the Prague Castle area, this recently restored vineyard boasts beautiful panoramic views over the city and legend has it that it is the oldest vineyard in Bohemia. Its outdoor Panorama Pergola is a favorite brunch and aperitif spot for locals and tourists during the summer and its two fine restaurants are reasonably priced but its location and selection of wines are what gives it the wow factor. $$$

 4. Zizkov TV Tower – Oblaca Restaurant, Bistro And Bar In The Sky

restaurace-oblaca-prague

Sat 66 meters above ground this sky high restaurant and bar is situated in the trendy bohemian neighborhood of Zizkov just a short distance from the old town city center. Offering international and modern cuisine, it is by far the best restaurant in Prague for city views. Its bar with its timeless design is an ideal place for rendezvous or meetings over a cup of excellent coffee during the day, but it is also the perfect place to visit with friends for a cocktail and listen to great music in the evenings. $$$

5. Grosseto Marina River Restaurant

Grosseto Marina Restaurant Prague
A favorite of mine, this stunning restaurant has one of the best views of the river and Prague’s castle and Charles Bridge because it is situated on the river on a docked boat. During the summer when the roof is pulled back and the terrace is open it is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset behind Petrin Hill and watch the boats pass by. It offers international cuisine with a heavy Italian feel and amazing pizzas. Reservation here is a must if you want to get a perfect window seat with a view! $$

6. Kampa Park Restaurant

Named as one of Prague’s finest restaurants, this five star stylish and lively river side restaurant boasts great views of Charles Bridge from its outside terraces. Ideal for a spot of lunch or evening dinner, Kampa Park is one of the most expensive restaurants in the city with an international menu and a wide wine list. Although it is a spectacular place during the summer it also has plentiful space inside and a winter garden with heated conservatory overlooking the river. $$$$

7. Terasa U Zlaté Studně Restaurant

Terasa U Zlaté Studně Restaurant

Located on the fourth floor of the Golden Well Hotel, this elegant rooftop restaurant boasts beautiful views over Mala Strana district of Prague and is a hot spot during the summer for romantic dinners and summer luncheons. Its bar is a relaxed place to enjoy a glass of champagne and its restaurant features a beautiful outdoor terrace, private access to the Royal Gardens during the summer and most importantly, a reasonably priced A-la carte Menu and tasting menu with Czech cuisine influence. $$

9. Mlynec Restaurant

Mlynec Restaurant Prague

Experience Charles Bridge up close while dining outside on Mlynec’s riverside terrace. As a favorite of mine due to its Sunday roast menu, this perfectly located restaurant is a gastronomic spectacular of Czech cuisine. Its large picture windows means the views can be enjoyed even on rainy days while its outdoor terrace is a fantastic spot to watch the buzz of Charles Bridge while devouring one of the menu’s tasty delights. $$$

Although it offers limited views from inside the restaurant (make sure you book a window seat for views), you can enjoy them from its terrace and its 360 degree panoramic gallery. Although the menu is on the pricey side it has many great reviews and its a great spot for tourists who want to tick dining in the “dancing” house off their list! $$$

Nice list Samantha. I always like a place with a view and we spent our 3 months in Prague climbing all the towers and some of the bars/restaurants. You have some great ones, we really like the views from the Dancing House (they have an outdoor section with fabulous views).
The only one we didn’t appreciate was the bar at the Zizkov TV tower. It was expensive and with the double panned glass was really hard to take a decent photo or get good views.
We’ll be back for a week in early April and will try out some of the others on your list.

Thanks for the comment Frank. I really liked the view from the Zizkov Tower during the day and I thought the food was great but you are right about the glass. It is sometimes better to just enjoy the view while eating dinner and head up the tower’s viewing platform separately for pictures 🙂 Hope you have a great time on your return 🙂 I am sure Prague misses you!

Very cool list. I especially like the rooftop places, which I’ll check out for sure, if I’ll ever visit Prague. Thanks for the recommendations!

I was just recently in Prague, and I really wish that I had this post for reference! I scrambled all around the city looking for a good place to eat and mostly ended up in little mom and pop restaurants. Thanks for sharing, I will keep this list for reference for the next time I make it out there 🙂

    Cheers!

I see you listed Kampa Park but in my opinion its sister restaurant Hergetova Cihelna’s terrace has a better view of Charles Bridge as it’s just a bit further away, so you see more of it. It’s also significantly cheaper too 🙂

Totally agree Charlie, we went Saturday night and it was superb. Fillet steak was in-describable (sauce was out of this world), staff were superb and views were beautiful. Definitely one to add to everyone’s list

I had no idea there was a restaurant in the Dancing House! We only scratched the surface with our first visit to Prague. This is an awesome list whether you want to take photos of the view or not. Thanks!

We were in Prague last October for a few days and fell in the love with this fairytale city. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t conducive to rooftop decks but now I want to return even more just to check some of these out.

I was in Prague ten years ago and probably the bar and restaurant selection has changed a lot since then…But your choice looks pretty decent to me 🙂

Prague is very beautiful city, but those views are unbelievable. Very beautiful pictures, as if somebody has just painted all the buildings, trees, and sky.
