Everybody knows that good music can put you in the best mood for even the hardest of work outs. So why not put this method in to practice and make sure you have some awesome tunes on your iPod when you walk the Camino de Santiago. While not everyone agrees nor wants music to accompany them on their walk, many (like me) choose to take an iPod or MP3 player to listen to, often offering a sense of comfort on your journey, especially if you are a solo walker.
I am incredibly happy that I decided to take my small iPod shuffle on my Camino. Having an upbeat song to pace myself to in times of pain or tiredness really helped, and in times of solitude while walking through some breath-taking landscapes, the right mellow track was a comfort and a treat that made those awe-inspired moments that extra bit special.
So if you’re planning on bringing your iPod or MP3 player with you on your Camino, here is some song suggestions (all songs I had and loved!) and a great playlist to get you through the biggest adventure of your life.
Freedom – Anthony Hamilton & Elayna Boynton
Oasis – Don’t Look Back In Anger
Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
Avril Lavigne – Keep Holding On
Roy Orbison – Oh Pretty Woman
Queen – I Want To Break Free
Ben E King – Stand By Me
The Foundations – Build Me Up
Katrina & The Waves – Walking On Sunshine
